The HOPE Gala is our annual fundraising event that celebrates our mission to transform the lives of children in need by helping them grow, learn, and cultivate a better future and an eternal HOPE.
This year’s HOPE Gala will be held on Sunday, December 18th at Army Navy Country Club in Arlington, VA from 6 – 9:30 PM. This event is HOPE’s premier fundraising opportunity that highlights the amazing work of our corporate and program partners, generous donors, and dedicated staff and volunteers. This year’s event will be focused on and in celebration of the creation of the HOPE Mobile Health Clinic, which will launch its Healthy and Ready to Learn Initiative in 2017 for children all across the DC area.
The Healthy and Ready to Learn Initiative is designed to break down the walls between health care and education by identifying and addressing health problems at school. It focuses on eight key health barriers to learning—uncontrolled asthma, fatigue, vision loss, hearing loss, social stress, hunger, behavioral problems, and dental pain—that keep kids from succeeding.
Through this event, HOPE will be able to raise funds for the retrofitting of the mobile unit to be used for the program, purchase equipment for screenings and health tests, and provide program support and ongoing human resources for the implementation of the initiative.
This year’s Gala will also celebrate the incredible accomplishment of one man, Dr. Levi Rizk, who just finished running across America, over 3,000 miles in under 100 days. His passion and determination to raise awareness for this cause will be honored in a special way this night.
Guests will enjoy an evening of gourmet food and wine, live entertainment, keynote speeches from prominent guests, and much more. Childcare will be provided onsite for children ages 3-12 with special activities and a separate meal. With so much to celebrate and more to look forward to, we’re certain this event will be a special night for all.
